Recently the MP for Titiwangsa Johari Bin Abdul Ghani  has made it clear that he does not need the Chinese and Indians to win the Titiwangsa seat. He did a mathematical calculation that all he need is the 32,000 Malay voters and that is all.

He made it very clear that the Chinese and Indians are a minority and they are nothing but *Customers*.

Telcos Begins To Roll Out The New 3+8 Mobile Numbers

Telcos Begins To Roll Out The New 3+8 Mobile Numbers
by Chapree
Friday, 17 December 2010 03:38 PM
Starting from 15 December, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) with the cooperation of industry’s players have introduced a new public cellular phone numbering format into the market. The new format - known as 3 + 8 format - begins with a 011 prefix and followed by eight digit.
The reason behind the new number format is pretty straight forward and obvious – there are only that much numbers are available under the existing 3 + 7 numbering format, so the new format is needed to cater future users. No change to existing customers though since both the new and old numbering format will co-exist together.

So, if you find your new phone number is one digit longer than your previous numbers or your other friends, don’t panic. In fact, congratulations – you just got yourself a new 3 + 8 mobile number. For further information, you can check out the official announcement by MCMC [pdf], together with helpful FAQs provided by Celcom, DiGi and Maxis.

Origin of Christmas Candy Cane...

Do you know why there are candy canes sold & use as Christmas decoration?

It's because of Jesus... many years ago a candy maker make it as a witness to his faith. The white symbolized the virgin birth and the sinless life of Jesus.  He made the candy hard to symbolize that Jesus is the solid rock.

The candy in the form of a "J" to represent... the name of Jesus,
He added red stripes to show the stripes of the scourging Jesus received, by which we are healed. The large red stripe was for the blood shed by Christ on the cross so that we could be forgiven and have the promise of eternal life. amazing isn't it?

let's celebrate a meaningful Christmas with a Purpose... ♥ ♥

Top 5 Compacts with LONG-zoom Lenses...

CNET ASIA: Compacts with long-zoom lenses

By Leonard Goh, CNET Asia

Most point-and-shoots have a zoom range of 3x to 5x, but there's a group of shooters with a longer zoom range. The trend was probably started by Panasonic with its TZ series, but these days most brands have their own long-zoom compact offering an optical zoom range of 10x and above. They are ideal for travelers who want a camera that allows them to capture distant subjects without weighing them down, the way dSLRs or superzooms sometimes do. Also, some of these shooters have manual exposure controls or specialized low-light modes, making them suitable for enthusiasts. While compact long zooms may be more expensive than the average point-and-shoot, their advanced features justify the premium.

Click here for a feature comparison table.
1.  Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10

CNET Asia rating: 8 out of 10
The good: Manual exposure control; multi aspect ratio sensor; GPS works for geotagging; quick performance; good image quality.
The bad: Design hasn't changed from previous TZ shooters; a bit heavy.
The bottom line: Panasonic listened to consumers and fixed the issues which bugged the TZ10's predecessor, making the current long-zoom compact a joy to use.

2.  Nikon Coolpix S8100

First take
The Nikon Coolpix S8100 is the company's latest compact long-zoom offering and this model succeeds the S8000. The snapper touts several upgrades, such as full-HD video and an improved image-processing engine. However, the point-and-shoot faces competition from rivals such as the Canon PowerShot SX210 IS and the popular Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10.

3.  Fujifilm FinePix F300EXR

CNET Asia rating: 7.8 out of 10
The good: Fast focusing; long zoom lens; stylish design; unique panorama mode captures 360-degree view; decent picture quality.
The bad: Lens return to wide-angle setting automatically when switching from EXR to normal modes; ISO setting is set at each exposure setting and requires manual adjustment.
The bottom line: The F300EXR is recommended for those who want a compact camera with a long zoom lens and speedy focusing system.

4.  Canon PowerShot SX210 IS

CNET Asia rating: 7.4 out of 10
The good: Simple, uncluttered design; variety of shooting modes; interesting Miniature Effect and Fisheye scene modes; 14x optical zoom in a slim chassis.
The bad: Stiff mode dial, unlabeled navigation pad; image quality degrades from ISO 200.
The bottom line: The SX210 IS is a very capable camera that does what it promises, but we think the image quality could be better.

5.  Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V

CNET Asia rating: 8 out of 10
The good: Speedy shooting performance; compact, lightweight design; plenty of fun, useful features; very good low-light photo quality for a compact camera.
The bad: Soft photos, videos; limited manual controls; GPS can't be quickly powered on and off.
The bottom line: The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V has shooting options for solving common snapshot camera issues, but some users still won't be thrilled with the results.

Having a ball

Greening Penang: Volunteers tossing mud ball into the nearby Prangin Canal.

A TOTAL of 1,500 volunteers from Hope International Ministries did not mind getting their hands dirty out of their concern for Mother Nature.

They went ahead to produce a record of 20,000 micro-organism mud balls in Penang.

It was believed to be the biggest gathering ever for such an event.

The volunteers were not only from all over Malaysia, but some even came from Singapore and Taiwan including foreign students enrolled in local colleges.

Those from the foreign countries were amazed by the technology used. According to them, they had never heard or made such mud balls before.

To ensure a speedy process, five mixers were used to mix the ingredients including soil and rice husk to produce what is called ‘Beneficial Indigenous’ micro-organism.

Environmental effort: Several volunteers preparing the mud balls for distribution.

The volunteers, dressed in orange, red and blue T-shirts started to make the mud balls as fast as possible, and within an hour their work was accomplished during the event yesterday.

“My team including me were just amazed and excited,” said Jessica Jen, a pastor of Hope Church in Taipei.

The 39-year-old said it was the group’s first visit here and they did not mind getting their hands dirty.

She said eight church members were present to lend a helping hand.

“Months ago we were given a briefing by our counterparts from Penang on the event, and we immediately agreed to participate,” she added.

The event, part of the state’s ‘Cleaner, Greener Penang’ initiative, started at 2pm at a car park near Komtar Walk.

It was jointly organised by Hope Penang, the state government and both local councils here with the cooperation from Hope International Ministries.

Leong Chung Nang, 32, said this was the first time that his 17 church members from Singapore were making mud balls.

The engineer said as far as he was concerned, he had not seen Singaporeans making such mud balls.

There were also several foreign students, who were all geared up for it. Among them were Linda Ingabire, 20, a banking and finance student from Multimedia University in Malacca, and Ido Anietie, 21, a computer science student from Inti International College Kuching.

Anietie, who originates from Nigeria said it was “cool” to help making the environment cleaner, while Ingabire from Uganda said she had never heard of such a technology back home.

Southwest district environment coordinator Sim Tze Tzin said the mud balls made would be left to ferment and dry.

Sim, who is also the Pantai Jerejak assemblyman, said 5,000 mud balls that had already been fermented were the ones that were thrown into the nearby Prangin Canal.

Sim said he was grateful to Hope for its time and effort to ensure the success of the event.

The volunteers then proceeded to the canal at about 3.30pm and they had fun tossing the mud balls in. The technology is known to stop algae growth and break down sludge in ponds, lakes, rivers and drains.

ARTICLES: Fuel Hike again...

Fuel hikes on cards, key players meeting today

UPDATED @ 04:08:01 PM 03-12-2010
December 03, 2010
Idris Jala to be at the meeting.
KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 3 — The government will likely call for another round of across-the-board fuel price hikes later today as part of its subsidy rationalisation efforts, industry sources say.

Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and Pemandu CEO Datuk Seri Idris Jala have called for a “very important meeting” at 3.00pm in Putrajaya to discuss the second wave of subsidy rationalisation.

“The government’s intention to allow market mechanisms to determine prices of essential goods and output to ensure better allocation of national resources, reduce wastage and increase the efficiency of the economy is expected to continue into 2011 as it remains committed towards subsidy rationalisation,” the media invite read.

Fuel subsidy was last cut in July 16, when prices went up by 5 sen per litre for petrol and diesel, and 10 sen per kg for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Today’s possible fuel price hike move will come only two days after the price of RON97 petrol was increased by 15 sen per litre to RM2.30. It was the second RON97 price hike announced in a month following a 5 sen increase on November 1.

RON97 is subject to a managed float to reflect the price of petrol in the global market.
Yesterday, Bernama reported that the government was considering standardising the price of diesel, which is sold at different rates according to use.

Diesel is sold at RM1.75 at the pump, RM1.25 to fishermen, RM1.45 to the transportation sector and RM2.05 to the industrial sector.

Ismail Sabri said yesterday that people were taking advantage of the subsidised prices to trade in the fuel.
“We propose to study the diesel price subsidy system again,” he told reporters after chairing a meeting on diesel abuse.
